It took the occasion of the franchise's 100th anniversary for the Red Wings to finally hop onto the alternate uniform bandwagon. Following several one-offs, the Red Wings finally introduce a full-fledged alternate in celebration of the franchise's centennial, using design elements from various elements from the team's history.
