• Prior to this season, no player had ever amassed 100 points in a season. This season, three players -- Phil Esposito, Bobby Hull and Gordie Howe -- all broke the plateau.
• For the second straight year, the Montreal Canadiens swept the St. Louis Blues in the Stanley Cup Final.
